Your Right to an Informed Decision
Georgia law requires counseling at least 24 hours before your appointment. This information helps you make an informed choice. Remember, your reproductive choice is yours, and we support you.
Understanding the Risks
It's important to be aware of the risks associated with both terminating a pregnancy and continuing it to term:
Risks of Terminating a Pregnancy:
- Surgical Abortion Risks: Less than 3% of cases may experience complications such as incomplete procedures, adverse reactions to medications, abdominal pain, heavy bleeding, infection, or injury to surrounding organs.
- Medical Abortion Risks: Medication-based methods carry risks of incomplete procedures, heavy bleeding, or adverse reactions.
Risks of Continuing a Pregnancy to Term:
- Potential medical risks include severe complications during labor, uncontrolled bleeding, seizures, strokes, abnormal heart function, anesthesia complications, and high blood pressure.
Support and Assistance
Medical assistance may be available for prenatal care, childbirth, and neonatal care. Additionally, the father is legally required to provide financial support for the child.
